When is the best time to submit sponsorship proposals to companies?

The Answer

Get an initial teaser or introduction out in September, before the end of the third quarter. By October and November, companies are deep into planning their activations, executions, and presenting budgets to management. If you present a program in February for a race season starting in March or April, you're too late. During COVID, companies noticed people submitting proposals earlier and more complete than usual - for example, Pikes Peak proposals were coming in before Christmas rather than by end of March. This showed what people should have been doing from day one.
